Calvin does not make the connection explicitly, but I have always thought that his famous opening premise to <I>The Institutes</I> that all our wisdom comes from our knowledge of God and ourselves springs from Christology. Calvin is saying, in other words, all our wisdom comes from the God-man knowledge. Who is the God-man? Where do we best learn about humanity and divinity? Christ Jesus.M.
